BUSINESS CASES - NZTA

At Commute we undertake business case assessments for NZTA (including PBCs, IBCs and DBCs) on a wide range of projects, from one-way bridges to strategic corridors over 100km in length. This type of work includes the development of investment objectives, option and programme development, and the selection and justification of preferred options.

LAND USE AND TRANSPORT PLANNING

At Commute, we prepare Integrated Transport Assessments (ITAs) and Traffic Impact Assessments (TIAs) for a wide range of developments nationwide. We assess the impacts of Plan Changes and resource consent applications for various types of developments, such as:

• Commercial properties
• Retail facilities
• Educational institutions, including child care facilities
• Residential developments, including aged care facilities
• Industrial activities

We also provide expert advice at Local Authority hearings and in the Environment Court.  Additionally, we offer peer review services to local councils and government agencies, ensuring that transport-related projects are assessed accurately and effectively.

TRAFFIC ENGINEERING AND DESIGN ADVICE

We provide transport design and engineering services for a wide range of development proposals.  This includes design advice for new greenfield developments providing multimodal corridors, or upgrades to existing rural and corridors including facilities for active modes, intersection designs and driveway designs.

ROAD SAFETY AUDITS

At Commute, we regularly conduct road safety audits for proposed road improvements, covering all stages from concept design to post-opening. These audits help ensure that road designs meet safety standards and are often required by authorities for approving subdivisions and other development proposals.

TRAVEL DEMAND MANAGEMENT

We have a wide range of experience in TDM , and regularly support clients in developing travel demand solutions for their site to assist in encouraging increased walking, cycling and public transport.  We are also experienced in developing Travel Demand Management plans, as can be required by resource consent conditions.
